In July 2021 the White Horse sadly closed. Seemingly for good. It was not without a gallant attempt to keep it up and running which was hampered by the now-infamous lockdowns and it's aging facilities.
While the building's owners looked for new tenants, the White Horse degraded very quickly, with water and storm damage accumulating, and internal flooding and severe damage from a lot of damp areas
Where Russ works as a designer and Liz has a keen eye on interiors the pub was designed with the classic layout in mind, but using modern techniques and materials throughout.
Modelling the pub in 3D allowed us to try out varying layouts, surface finishes and create fly-throughs so that we could ensure that the pub and restaurant would be laid out to best suit the flow of the business.
Making omlettes means one thing, breaking things out. We worked to a program and broke the areas which weren't right and needed attention, and kept going until... well... there was nothing left.
Near enough all the plaster failed, a great deal of the electricals failed, a lot of plumbing failed and all was broken out, and then we assessed the task ahead.
We employed some fantastic professionals to help us along with certain juobs outside of our skill level, but the rest was done to our friend Adam, Thank you Adam. Our Neighbour Andrew, Thank you Andrew. Liz and Russ, and we worked like maniacs
